It’s amazing when you see a dominant player, in any sport. Like Tom Brady was for the most part of last season in NFL, or Sid the Kid in NHL. Last night it was Kobe Bryant who put on a show, sure he took his sweet time to get going, but once he did, it was bye-bye Spurs.
Down by 20 with 5:40 left in the third, and the Lakers looked really rusty. Then the MVP of the year stepped up to showed why he was elected. Putting up 25 points in the second half after just 2 in the first, and just his presence on the floor, his fakes, twists and eye for the game made the Spurs adjust their defense so that other Lakers could get good looks. The number where close right in the end, but it didn’t feel that close once the Laker got going it was their game to win. Not sure when they last lost in the Staples Center but I believe it was a good two month ago or something like that.
Apart from Kobe, Tim Duncan was the man of the match in my opinion. He dominated the rebound game (18 rebounds), and put down 30 points (most in the game).
And by the this is what I meant when I said that the stars will determine the outcome of this series.
