Some comparisons and quick thoughts from the sixth swedish final

I haven’t had time to really think this through but this is the feeling I’ve got from the game.

Tony Mårtensson = Peyton Manning ?

They have both been the (one of the) best offensive weapons in their respective leagues, not just for one year but for some years, both had sky high exceptions on them before every season, and they most often did perform really well during the regular season. But before Peytons win last year, they both failed to lead their team to victory and perform when the spotlight was on them. Sure both could blame the defense for not holding up, but in some way they had to set the tone and they failed with that in my mind. But Peyton exercised his “big game daemons” by beating the subpar Bears. Unfortunately, HV71 isn’t subpar, they are better than LHC in almost every part of the game.

They, LHC, kinda reminds me of the of that version of the Bears, they had a good season but, when it was all on the line their offence couldn’t move the ball and their defence wasn’t as good as advertised, the only good part of their game was the special teams, but you won’t become a champion with just that. In LHC the offence is as ineffective as ever, their defence is mostly a big hole. The only guys that are good play in the forth line, kinda like the special teams in football.

Enough with the comparisons and over to the thoughts, you can actually make a pretty good case that it’s the referees fault that LHC is loosing (you would be wrong, but still make a good case). Off-course  I’m thinking about the stick in game number three and the goals that was deemed no good in the sixth game. The stick thing was obvious a mistake buy the referee, and I sincerely belief that if the game had been in Linköping Niklas Persson would have scored 3 – 0. And this is a real problem for the league, but the solution is simple and effective, two referees per game and have some not from the hometown checking the goal videos.
